Richard Smith

I am Attorney Richard Smith and I handle personal injury cases, worker’s compensation claims, Social Security Disability claims and trucking accident cases. I am licensed in SC and NC.  I began practicing law in 1987 in Rock Hill SC, and I later took the NC bar and have practiced in NC since 1992.  I was the litigation attorney in Rock Hill and I later moved to Spartanburg and practiced three years with the Henson Law Firm before leaving with my fellow associate Michael Lee to form Lee and Smith in 1994.  I chose to leave Lee and Smith which is now Lee Law Firm and form The Law Offices of Smith and Thomas PA in 2013.

I grew up in Spartanburg and went to Dorman High School and the University of South Carolina Upstate before going to Law School at the University of South Carolina.  I am a member of the Choir at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Spartanburg.  Family and Faith are very important to me.  My father was a police officer and my mother worked a JC Penney’s.  Everything I have accomplished in life has been through the grace of God and hard work.  I understand the struggles of working people and have dedicated my professional life to helping injured people.
